The Original Meditation behind the WOJ Peace and Inity Festival
I an I got the Vision of arranging free reggae festivals in Africa since I Kingman told I a story about when Lucky Dube (peace be upon his soul) came to play in my Kingman’s homeland, Tanzania. Many thousands of people came to the streets to see him pass, showing him so much love and singing his songs.
Later on at the concert, all Lucky could see was kind off stiff old men in jackets and ties- not at all the people who showed him so much love in the streets. So therefore he asked someone at the end of the concert- "where are all those fans that came to see me outside? It is them I wanted to play for!" The answer he got was: "They love You Lucky, but they cannot afford to enter." Next day Lucky demanded to put up a free concert for his real fans, and so it was done!
Later this Vision grew bigger, and I thought that maybe it would be possible if I an I can set up a charity account, and look for next ways to get support for arranging these free reggae festivals, like a moving peace and unity festival from country to country in Africa, with all the conscious musicians. And it will be recording peace and love messages from the people of the countries it is moving through, to the next, from people to people, Uniting people from the grassroots.
I presented the idea to some of the Idrens at the World of Jah Online Faith Community. And we said: "a Peace and Inity Festival, lets try mek this happen!"
We all saw the bigger picture, the vision that it can actually be a possible startingpoint of a positive strategy for Africa to begin to Unite from the very grassroots - from within the people themselves, as they commInIcate through this movement and the gatherings it would bring.
Sistren Hailema Amhara Solomon, Timeless I remarked that we do have enough artists, craftspeople, and so many resources that can be mobilized and put into creative action. And so the Sisteren uttered strong faith that this idea could springboard into a working plan of action that could be a mutually beneficial arrangement for the artists and the committee of sponsoring countries (or individuals).
We felt the most important things to put first is the total focus on the giving and sharing of the movement, rather than "tryna sell something".
Equally important was to make this a festival that would include the whole African family, not just a specific agegroup. That is, to make this moving festival a forum to enable children as well as adults to commIanIcate through, for a better future and greater Over- and Innerstanding across the tribelines, religious lines.. class, political and countrylines etc.
Highly crucial was also that I an I make these Festivals (and the gatherings it brings) possible as the open, tolerant, ecumenic faith community that the WOJ intend to be - and that all Africans truly is at Heart and in Nature.
The Bredrin Informative History Man made a strong input of adding building and creating to the sharing and giving of the festival. Yes, this Festival could in fact grow into so much more than the spreading of Words, of Conscious Reggae Music –It should also put the Works where the Words are!
Healing, building, creating and giving to the infrastructures of where it passes - Hopefully throughout the African continent.
Bredrin Natty Bongoman brought seing a bigger statement being - festival to open a building [school, dispensary] with full force bashment, arts explosion and exchanges.
Mama SkaiRain rang the crucial bell that I an I should make a Sisteren to Sisteren link; as in Wombmen helping Wombmen; a part of these festivals.
Mama Dorothy brought the essential of combining the music festivals with health screening, and education about organic vegetables, and other current self-help educational topics.
The Festivals will definitely be a great place to promote the local artists too, as well as those brought in.
Still being in the “I have a dream”-state, the next crucial aspect of these Festivals would be to have them become an even wider bridge between Africans. The Africans Home and Abroad. The sometimes different cultures (and ripped apart histories) of the ones home and abroad should be given room within the movement and gatherings of these Festivals; Uniting the separated African groups of people into 1: working together for a common future.
So far we had identified several and multidimensional goals and perspectives, such as: Gathering, Initing, ReIniting, CommIanIcating, Building, Sharing, Caring, Iducating, Giving, Enabling, Promoting, Inspiring, Involving and Engaging.. All inna Positive Movement from down the very grassroots of everyday African people.
Here came the identification of the building blocks of detailed organizing. Sisteren Hailema Amhara Timeless I stressed that I an I had to move from the what to the how, in order to practically make it possible to start up and run this thing without crashing it anywhere along the way.
Now this is the early stage of where the I-dea is at. It is not a small project and lot of Idrens will be needed on the organizing and planning side for each event in each location, in order to become a reality.
And there are nuff Q still, as in how wi gonna run it? Like a pop up festival in each location or inna caravan form? The Vision isn’t fully complete. A next Q dat comes up is, how we gonna get support and still stay true to the HIGH IDEAL of not “tryna sell something” as in, avoiding too mush of the advertainment vibe?
I dearest Mama Dorothy suggested that the first "Committee" might be something like a "Recruitment Committee", which would have the task of getting the word out that workers are needed, the location where, and what tasks need to be done.
So many hands and hearts will be needed in each location, as well as within a Central Organizing Committee which will be needed in order to coordinate all the planning and implementation. We gat to mek a Biz Plan, ave a time frame etc..
There are plenty more Idrens that ave shown great interest and support for this I-dea whiles it is still at such a embryonic stage - more than the I’s mentioned above and more than I can mention here without mekin it sound like an Oscar speech and dats definitely not the intended mode. I an I give thanks for the I’s still, truly, and I pray for the I’s further support!
What I will mention, last but not least, is the very reason and inspiration far I an I starting to fully formulate I an I Vision to this point; Bredrin Djahuti and the Empress Shebah Ra III Entrepreneurship Foundation; which are also whom the business plan will be presented to when its fully formulated.
Dat, I Blessed Family, will be full circle and hopefully, if Jah is willing, HRH will feel the Vibe just as strongly as I an I do!!!

I an I feel a need to stress dat this is a SHARED VISION, dat noone should follow I. I am no given "face out" but since I an I all share the same Vision it is Good and Great for all a we to come together as 1 and work together equally for it. I an I do trust in Jah and recognise Jah in each I of us. Dats what it means far I to volunteer and do Jah Works by free will.
I can recruit I's and look over where ones are needed for what needs to be done, and be sensitive to new ideas and inputs.. I know Jah provides I an I with the Strenght and the Currage, Enthusiasm and Inergy to do more than I can do as a mere humanbeing. BUT also I feel dat I am not fit to "lead" this movement, or being the "face out" since it is in fact a mamaland thing and no matter how mush I Heart Truly Madly and Deeply beats for Africa and Africans I an I is not fit to lead the way of a Movement with the intension to to free up the African land and Initing the people!!! I was not alone when the Vision was tekin form, I an I was reasoning globaly at the WOJ and crucial inputs was made by homegrown Africans too.
So, I an I do have a dream and it is shared by many, I thank Jah far this and I pray it nah go stuck inna dream state but that we together find the Strenght and Currage to push this through!!!
Come lets reason bout these Jah Works at the Mansion
