1952: Ian Lewis [Inner Circle; bass (Fatman Riddim Section)] is born.
1954: The western African nation of Algeria began its rebellion against French rule. (Revolution Day)
1995: UB40 guests on CBS-TV's "Late Show With David Letterman".
1996: Bob Marley & The Wailers' compilation album "Legend" [Island] is certified Multi (9.0) Platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America).

November 2
1930: Coronation of H.I.M. Haile Selassie I 38-year-old Ras Tafari Makonnen, the 225th descendant of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, is crowned Emperor of Ethiopia, receiving the title of Haile Selassie, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Conquering Lion of the tribe of Judah.

1964: Itagaki Fumihiko aka Jah Itagaki is born in Sapporo, Japan.
1983: The 40th U.S. President Ronald Reagan signs law designating the third Monday in January Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
1990: Ossie Dellimore wins the Caribbean Amateur Night contest at the legendary Apollo Theater.
1998: Roland Alphonso suffers a seizure on stage while performing with The Skatalites at the Key Club in West Hollywood, California, and is taken to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Roland passed away 18 days after (November 20).
1999: Artist manager Don Taylor (Donald Taylor) passes away in the Miami Heart Institute in Florida shortly after 9:00 a.m., days after heart surgery, at the age of 56. (b. February 10, 1943)

Taylor managed the career of Bob Marley & The Wailers from 1975 until 1980 and in 1995 he wrote about his association with Bob Marley in the book "Marley and Me".

Some sources reported Taylor died November 1.
